ONE MILLION IS SWEET
November 18, 2011

What would you do if today you won one million dollars?  The vacation you always dreamed of, the house to fit all of the family members, a small business with your best friend, all of those possibilities for a minute have the chance to flood your mind and make you smile. Winning one million dollars can be very sweet indeed. US lottery

Christopher Johnson of Port Jervis, Orange County had the luck to  experience what others for a minute could only fantasized about.  He, however had a strategy to win his Sweet Million. A strategy that springs from the ones he loves most.

“I combined different numbers from the birthdays of my wife, Victoria, and our two children,” explained the 49-year-old Price Chopper baker. Lottery results

The six numbers Johnston chose matched all six numbers drawn (2-5-10-16-27-30) on November 3, earning the father of two a $1,000,000 pay day.

Sweet Million is a draw game offered by the New York Lottery which consists in selecting six numbers from a field of 40, the chances of winning the top prize is one in 3,838,380.  The ticket costs only one dollar.

So Johnston was reading the newspaper when he aimlessly checked on the result of the drawing.  There printed on paper he saw his family´s birthday combination, a string of numbers that made it impossible for him not to recognize immediately.

When he saw and checked over and over again to make sure he had won the complete set of six numbers, he suddenly realized that it was possible, that dreams really do come true.

Johnston claimed his $1,000,000 Sweet Million prize at the Fishkill Customer Service Center on November 4th .  This makes him the 20th New Yorker to win a Sweet Million jackpot since the game started in 2009.  The strategy that he used however is a strategy that many have reported to have used effectively, people seem to like to pair up the birthdays of their loved ones and get pretty good results.

The $1,000,000 prize on the Sweet Million game is paid as a lump sum. Johnston will receive a one time, net payment totaling $660,300.

As a good family man Johnston plans to share his luck with his family, after all they  were the ones who gave him the numbers to win in the first place.  In the works is a long family vacation to the Caribbean.  He also plans to buy a new TV and the rest will be set aside for retirement.

Not a life-changing amount, but definitely a windfall that can serve to make room for a vacation to be remembered by all family members and a much needed vacation for Johnston.
