There is a lucky Welsh winner that officials are urging to come forward and claim their £1m prize – or face losing it forever.
The thought is that the person, who bought ticket in the Cardiff area on December 23, may not know they were one of 25 players to scoop the fortune in the Millionaire Raffle draw. US lottery
The owner of the ticket with the raffle number FXV864819 has until 11pm on Wednesday, June 20 to claim their prize.
If the ticket-holder comes forward, they will join the 160 Lottery and EuroMillions winners who have already claimed a combined £732m fortune. Mega lottery
Among some of the past winners, there are: an agricultural mechanic, Meredith Davies, from Llandeilo, she won £2,069,730 on a jackpot-winning National Lottery ticket in 2004; Paul Hardware, from Cardiff, who won £4,986,272 in 2007; and Rugby-mad quartet Terry Roberts, Michael Williams, Gerwyn Jones and Lance Gifford, from the Rhondda, who scooped a share of £4,091,609 with a syndicated ticket last year.
For every EuroMillions line played, the UK players automatically receive a EuroMillions Millionaire Raffle selection printed on their ticket.
The special Christmas EuroMillions Millionaire Raffle draw was the finale of Millionaires Month, where 50 new guaranteed millionaires were made between 25 November and Christmas Day.
Until now, 44 out of the 50 lucky ticket-holders from the November-December have come forward to claim their prize, with just six prizes outstanding – three from the draw on November 25 and three from the special Christmas draw.
If nobody comes forward with the winning ticket before the prize claim deadline, the prize money, plus all the interest the prize has generated, will go to the Good Causes – adding to the £27 billion already raised through sales of lottery tickets since The National Lottery launched in November 1994.
A National Lottery spokesperson said: “We’re desperate to find this mystery ticket-holder and unite them with their winnings – this amazing prize could really make a huge difference to somebody’s life as they start 2012.”
“Being able to guarantee two UK millionaires every week with Millionaire Raffle, plus 25 from the draw on 23 December is fantastic and we’re urging everyone to check and recheck their old EuroMillions tickets one more time, or look anywhere and everywhere a missing ticket could be hiding so that this prize can turn someone into the newest member of the lottery millionaire club.”
“Try checking in the pockets of clothing, in wallets, bags, behind beds and down the back of the sofa, kitchen or table. We have the champagne on ice and our fingers crossed that the lucky winner comes forward to claim their win.”
Let’s just hope that everyone who has recently bought a ticket can reconsider and check, one more time, the ticket numbers that they bought and all the tickets that they may still have. You never know if this prize may be waiting for you to become another EuroMillions winner and be a part of this exclusive group.
